Comment's:
I am not really sure what happened, but overall my experience with our DJ was not positive. Prior to even signing a contract with CJ sound, I made it clear that we were looking for someone who would play the music we requested. We were told that wouldn't be a problem and I used the software provided to us to give that info to our DJ. Our DJ met with us in person on June 8th. We went over all the details for our wedding: the flow of the evening, pronunciations of names, and our music selection. He remarked that we had a great selection but might not have enough songs for the full time. I sent him an additional 37 songs (on top of the 60 from the software). We stressed no requests and that we had worked hard on our music selection for the past year and those were the songs we wanted to hear. When we arrived at the reception, a few bridal party names were mispronounced. Our maid of honor/best man were introduced twice. And he introduced us (the bride and groom) as Jeff and Elizabeth, which is not my name. He seemed confused all night. There were other mixed up announcements throughout the evening. I heard several songs I know I did not have on my list, which mean they were either of his own decision (shouldn't have been...there was almost 100 songs to choose from with a run time of over 6 hours) or he was taking requests (which we also asked him not to do). It got to a point where my wedding party had to go and speak with him and spell out the songs he should play for the remaining 30-40 minutes so that I could hear some of the music I requested weeks and weeks ago. I'm not usually one to leave negative reviews but this was a huge let down for our wedding. We worked so hard on this music selection and went with a DJ to help keep things moving smoothly without anyone needing to attend to a speaker or spotify playlist. But honestly it almost would have been easier to just rent some sound equipment and do it myself with the amount of prodding, reminding, and flat out telling him how to do his job my guests, wedding party, and I had to do. We still made it work, we still danced, but I give that credit to my guests who can turn anything into a good time. I was so excited after our meeting with Jim the week before because it seemed like he understood what we were looking for and wanted . Therefore it was a huge letdown when the execution could not have been further from that expectation.
